Andy Robertson delivered a brutally honest assessment of Liverpool’s failings and admitted they only have themselves to blame.
Liverpool are stuck outside the Champions League places and find themselves closer to the relegation zone than the top after their damaging defeat at Brentford.
Robertson was a half-time substitute but could not help turn the performance around and now they face a major battle to get into the top four. Reds full back Robertson said: “Obviously we didn't do what we were supposed to do. It's as simple as that. We didn't have any runners in-behind, we didn't have anyone high and wide, we didn't have anyone in spaces, we couldn't keep the ball, we lost the second balls, balls in-behind they dealt with, set-pieces they dealt with.
