The result means Liverpool end the weekend as they started it, one point behind leaders Manchester City.
At the other end of the table, Everton's fears of relegation are growing as they sit 18th, two points behind Burnley, who secured a morale-boosting win over Wolves earlier on Sunday. The good news for the Toffees is they have a game in hand on the Clarets, but there is no denying they are in a dire position.
