Andy Halliday says there can be no question over whether James Tavernier is 'world class' any more.
Because his formidable record of scoring important goals in Europe this season puts it beyond debate.
Tavernier is the top scorer in the Europa League so far with seven - a remarkable stat in its own right considering he's a right-back.
Four of those have been from the penalty spot but that takes nothing away from the Rangers skipper who keeps his cool on the big occasions.
Halliday though reckons his importance goes beyond simply the volume of goals he scores.
The Hearts midfielder, a former teammate of Tavernier's, points to the fact he has opened the scoring in ALL of their Europa League knockout games at Ibrox this season.
And he reckons that puts the 'world class' tag beyond any reasonable doubt.
"I'm going to get stick for this and I do not care but Tav's performances have been at a world-class level," Halliday told Open Goal.
"He has performed to the highest level.
"In every knockout round, he's scored the first goal at Ibrox.
"You're wanting someone to lead the team forward and he's scored first in every game - he's unbelievable.
"The argument with Tav is that he's not that good defensively but show me one clip where he's been done defensively in Europe."
