Andy Firth in post Rangers transfer as keeper finds new club after Ibrox exit

Andy Firth has found a new club after putting pen to paper at Connah's Quay Nomads.

The former Rangers keeper left the Light Blues after three and a half years at the club having being part of the squad that won the Scottish Premiership title and ended Celtic's ten-in-a-row bid and also reached the Europa League Final against Frankfurt last season.

He made one top team appearance for the Ibrox side during his time at the club and also had a stint on loan at Scottish Championship outfit Partick Thistle. The 25-year-old will now hope to gain an extended run of top team appearances at his new club after making his Nomads debut in the 5-0 victory over Llandudno on Tuesday night, making a good early save from a Llandudno free kick before going on to keep a clean sheet.

On Firth's arrival, head coach Craig Harrison commented" "We are very pleased to get Andy all done and dusted as we have been working hard to bring another goalkeeper in following Ollie Byrne's departure.

"Neil Ebbrell has done a fantastic job over the years in recruiting some great goalkeepers for the club and I'm sure Andy will be another one.

"Andy has great pedigree having spent the best part of 10 years with Liverpool and Glasgow Rangers whilst also having two spells on loan at National Premier league teams."

Before joining Rangers in 2019, Firth - who spent much of his youth at the Liverpool Academy - gained vital experience in the National League at the likes Chester and Barrow.
