ANDY Burnham said he does not want to “alarm” the public over reports of a death from plague in Russia, but would “monitor the situation closely”.

The Prime Minister spoke on the subject today (Thursday, October 8) when visiting Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
