Andy Burnham has told his first cabinet meeting that it needs to be a “cost-of-living government” and help those struggling with high costs.
The new prime minister said he wanted to give Britons the sense that “help is coming”, telling his top team that its mission was to “take that little bit of pressure off people’s shoulders”.
