Prime Minister Andy Burnham has held a summit to look at how to better tackle wildfires after a summer of devastating blazes across the UK.
Mr Burnham thanked firefighters and said the response to the emergency showed the “best of Britain”, but said he had brought together fire chiefs, industry leaders, ministers and academics to take action and build resilience “for the next time”.
