Andrew Westacott promises 'thorough investigation' after fans break through security to access Albert Park track

Fans climb on the safety fencing at Albert Park before the Formula 1 race had concluded.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) boss Andrew Westacott says there will be a "thorough investigation" after fans managed to break through security and access the Albert Park track, before the race was officially over.

Footage has emerged showing Formula 1 fans at Sunday's grand prix in Melbourne climbing safety fences and squeezing through barriers, just metres away from the speeding cars.
