Andrew Tate was detained by Romanian police on Thursday and predicted his own arrest during several podcast appearances.
Former kickboxing world champion Tate, 36, was one of four people arrested on Thursday in connection with an investigation to alleged human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group. The arrest may not have come as a surprise to Tate, who was banned from all social media platforms earlier this year but has since been reinstated on Twitter.
The American-born Brit has previously expressed fear over his life whilst also predicting that he would be jailed shortly after his social media blackout. "The only reason I'm upset about being cancelled is because I've expired one of my lives," he said on the Full Send podcast last month.
"First you get cancelled, then they make up a reason to put you in jail and if that fails, they kill you. Now I'm down to my last two lives, it's scary because they've given me the warning and I'm still running my mouth."
Tate was filmed being taken away in cuffs on Thursday evening and could be heard saying "the Matrix has attacked me" to cameras at the scene. Police carried out a raid at his property shortly after, with a video showing knives and guns in his home, which also featured a high-end security system with 16 CCTV cameras.
In another podcast appearance this year, Tate predicted that he would be jailed even if he was innocent of crimes that he was accused of. "They decide you're guilty long before and they find a reason why, it doesn't matter what you do about it, you pay the f****ng price," he said.
"I truly believe they are going to come and try to kill me on a long enough timeframe because they tried to shut me up and I won't shut up. They're either going to try to put me in jail or try to kill me. I would never kill myself any under circumstances ever."
Tate and his brother were questioned in April. The brothers were released while the investigation continued but were detained again on Thursday in connection with an investigation into human trafficking and forming an organised crime group.
Four suspects "appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content. They would have gained important sums of money."
A spokesperson for Tate told the Daily Mirror: "We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained; however, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can."
