Andrew Tate faces lawsuit from three women over claims of sex assault and physical abuse

Three women are suing notorious social media influencer Andrew Tate in the UK, accusing him of sexual assault, physical abuse and controlling behaviour.

The claimants, in their late twenties and early thirties, say the ex-kickboxer – under house arrest in Romania – attacked them between 2013 and 2016.

They are understood to have reported him to police previously.

Tate was reportedly the subject of a four-year probe by Hertfordshire Constabulary that ended in 2019 when the CPS declined to charge him. One of the claimants, represented by McCue Jury & Partners, said: “We intend to prove in court Andrew is abusive, coercive and controlling.”

The civil proceedings will be crowdfunded. Tate, 36, previously denied the allegations, saying: “They wanted money because I fired them.

“The police understood after the investigation that I am innocent.” Tate, a British-US citizen who has lived in Bucharest since 2017, is being probed by Romanian authorities on suspicion of organised crime and human trafficking offences. He was arrested in December along with his brother Tristan, 34, and two women. All of them deny any wrongdoing.

Tate has been banned from various social media platforms for misogynistic views and hate speech.
