Andrew Garfield says he’d rather ‘whittle wood’ than promote his films

  • Actor Andrew Garfield has revealed a desire to step away from the Hollywood spotlight after completing nearly a year of continuous film work.
  • Garfield recently worked back-to-back on major projects including The Magic Faraway Tree, The Uprising , and the Sam Altman biopic Artificial.
  • Speaking to Variety , the 43-year-old actor joked that he would prefer to “whittle wood in the Somerset countryside” rather than promote his upcoming movies, and thinks about leaving showbusiness “all the time”.
  • The Amazing Spider-Man star explained that his current aspirations now focus on overall quality of life and personal relationships rather than professional achievements.
  • Garfield previously took a two-year hiatus from acting in 2022 to recalibrate after a demanding awards season.
