Andrea Radrizzani takes Leeds United credit in six-word social media message

Andrea Radrizzani appears to have taken credit for helping to design Leeds United’s new home kit. The Italian is currently in the process of selling Leeds to 49ers Enterprises after striking a deal with the American consortium earlier in the summer.

The deal is still awaiting approval from the EFL, but once the green light has been received Radrizzani will be able to permanently hand over the keys to Elland Road and draw a line under his six-year stint as the club’s chairman. The Italian has found a new club, with his focus being on Sampdoria over the last few months while the sale of Leeds progresses.

But, while he is hard at work trying to turn the fortunes of the recently Serie A club around, it seems as though he’s still keeping tabs on proceedings in West Yorkshire. On Tuesday morning, the Whites unveiled their new home strip which they will wear in the Championship this season.

It has been received well by Leeds fans, with many suggesting it is the best kit Adidas has produced for the club during their four-season association. Some supporters took aim at the outgoing chairman on social media, then, criticising the recent kits produced under his ownership.

Radrizzani hit back at one supporter, though, and appeared to take credit for the design by tweeting: “Who do you think made it?”

Radrizzani took to Twitter last week to welcome the arrival of Daniel Farke to the club, too, writing on social media: “Congrats and good luck Daniel. MOT” While he also commented on the trailer which dropped last week for the upcoming documentary about Kalvin Phillips being made by Neo Studios, which the Italian is known to have a stake in.

It’s obvious, then, that despite the sale progressing, Radrizzani continues to take an interest from afar in developments with Leeds and that is to be expected after six years at the club. Unfortunately, though, after being the man to help Leeds back to the Premier League after 16 years away, Radrizzani’s time in West Yorkshire ended on a sour note, with Leeds losing their top-flight status in May.
