Andrea Radrizzani calls for patience as Leeds United manager search goes on

Andrea Radrizzani posted a tweet on Tuesday night which hinted that Leeds United were close to appointing a new manager. However, the Leeds owner has now called for patience as the search for Jesse Marsch's successor continues to rumble on.

The Leeds co-owner originally tweeted: "We are on it [finding a new manager]. Hopefully white smoke by tonight or tomorrow [Wednesday morning]."

But as Wednesday morning ticked into the afternoon, some Leeds supporters have been growing impatient as they travel to Old Trafford to face bitter rivals Manchester United under the caretaker charge of under-23s head coach Michael Skubala this evening.

Interviews for the managerial vacancy began on Monday evening and continued throughout the day on Tuesday. Angus Kinnear and Victor Orta were at Thorp Arch on Tuesday, while Radrizzani is flying in ahead of tonight's game against Man United to play his part in the appointment of a new manager.

According to the Daily Mail, Orta has now jetted out to Madrid to 'negotiate a deal' for Andoni Iraola, who is a disciple of legendary Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa. The Rayo Vallecano boss is among the frontrunners for the Leeds job, while Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has emerged as the bookies' latest favourite.
