Andi Peters is more often than not out and about bringing Good Morning Britain and Lorraine viewers the latest competition details. However, as he appeared in the GMB studio on Tuesday (November 1), he had some news to share about his current role.
The TV star confused viewers of the ITV news programme when he appeared on the main hosting desk while the latest hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls headed to the other side of the studio ahead of their next segment with Vick Hope, who is stepping into Richard Arnold's shoes for two weeks.
She was on hand to discuss the official I'm A Celebrity 2022 line-up after the campmates were officially unveiled by ITV. But before they could get stuck into the entertainment news, Andi shared details of the latest competition before revealing he had some 'breaking news' to share.
Andi will be ditching the UK for Australia this week where he'll stay for the duration of I'm A Celeb as it returns to its spiritual home Down Under after two years of being filmed in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking about his trip, the 52-year-old star reassured viewers that he would be back in the studio after the ITV show comes to an end. "Okay the breaking news is: I am going to go to Australia to cover the campmates - that's the breaking news," Andi said. "So I will be there for the final week."
Susanna and Ed then went on to chat about the line-up with Vick, which includes Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, reality TV star Olivia Attwood, radio DJ Chris Moyles and Loose Women star Charlene White. Discussing what the new batch of contestants have said prior to their debut on screen this Sunday (November 6).
BBC Radio 1 star Vick revealed how Eileen Grimshaw actress Sue's dream campmate would be Richard Arnold, which was correctly guessed by Susanna as the pair are great friends in real life.
It was at this point that Ed Balls asked: "Is he going into the jungle too?" to which Vicky appeared slightly nervous and avoided the question saying: "He's not here, but it’s not my job to speculate."
Making up this year's batch of I'm A Celeb campmates are Boy George, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner, TV presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas, former footballer Jill Scott and comedian Babatunde Aleshe.
The big reveal comes ahead of the ITV reality show premiering on Sunday, November 6, at 9pm, back with Ant and Dec at the helm, with a 105-minute special. And as fans have already noticed, the start date is slightly earlier than usual to avoid a clash with the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in Qatar on Sunday, November 20.
