Andhra Pradesh: Temple priest murdered in West Godavari district

RAJAHMUNDRY: A temple priest was found brutally murdered in West Godavari district.

The deceased is Kothalanka Venkata Nageswara Sarma (51). Police suspect that a land dispute between the deceased and his brother might be behind the murder.

Nageswara Sarma (51) was a priest at Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Subrahmunya Swamy in Tadimalla village in West Godavari district. He went missing on Monday evening. His family members searched for him, but in vain.

When they revisited the temple next morning, they found his body behind the temple in a pool of blood. The deceased also had severe injuries to his head.

According to sources, Nageswara Sarma and his brother Lakshmi Parameswara Rao, who is a priest in a Siva temple in the same village, had a land dispute between them.
