Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to experience rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next five days as a surface circulation and the northeast monsoon influence weather conditions across the two states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of isolated heavy rainfall, lightning and strong winds in parts of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, October 15, while the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for several Telangana districts. Rainfall activity is expected to continue in several areas through Monday.
The developing weather system is associated with a trough extending from the Gulf of Mannar through the southwest Bay of Bengal to the northwest Bay of Bengal, according to the Meteorological Centre. With conditions becoming favourable for the northeast monsoon, several parts of both states are likely to receive rain accompanied by gusty winds.
