Amaravati: In a shocking incident in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district, a woman received a parcel containing the body of a man and a letter demanding Rs 1.30 crore.
The woman is a resident of Yendagandi village in the district’s Undi mandal who was awaiting materials for her under-construction house.
According to reports, she had earlier also sought financial help from an organisation which had provided her tiles to help constructing her home.

Woman receives message for parcel
The woman had received a WhatsApp message that she would get electric items such as lights, fans, and switches.
According to reports, a man delivered the box on Thursday night to her home and she was told by the delivery person that it contained electrical appliances.
Human Remains & Extortion Letter
When she opened the parcel she and her family members were shocked to see the human remains and an extortion letter demanding Rs 1.3 crore. The letter threatened dire consequences if the amount was not paid.

The family later alerted the police.
Man believed to have died about five days before. The police have sent the body for autopsy.
Case Registered
Police registered a case and have started the investigation.
The police have summoned the representatives of the organisation to whom woman sought help in the constructing her home. (With Agency Inputs)
