Andhra Pradesh: Monkeys were assaulted to death not poisoned, confirms autopsy

SRIKAKULAM: The 45 monkeys, which were found dead near the roadside at Silagam village under Kaviti Mandal of Srikakulam district, were beaten to death and not poisoned, confirmed the post mortem report of the veterinary department.

The monkeys, including baby and female simians, were found dead on October 25 in Srikakulam district. The forest officials had earlier suspected that the monkeys may have died after eating bananas poisoned by some people.
