Andhra Pradesh: Madanapalle gets two Disha patrol vehicles

Police on Monday launched two Disha patrol vehicles at Madanapalle to effectively tackle crimes against women. The vehicles would be kept at the disposal of the Mahila police teams in Madanapalle police sub-division, covering a vast area of 31 mandals.

Deputy SP (Madanapalle) A. Ravi Manohar Achari, who launched the vehicles at the II-Town police station, told reporters that the Disha patrol vehicles would serve an essential need for the police by helping them reach out to women in distress as quickly as possible.

The police officer said that the presence of Disha vehicles would further instill a sense of confidence among the public, besides contributing to visible policing. The vehicles would also ensure heightened patrolling close to bus stops at educational institutions. The Deputy SP said that the number of vehicles would be increased to suit future requirements.

Circle Inspector S. Murali Krishna said that the police personnel manning the Disha vehicles would be kept on alert round the clock through shifts, so that distress calls and messages would be attended to promptly.
