TIRUPATI: A young couple died by suicide by hanging themselves inside the forest area near Bhakrapet in Tirupati district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as J Yugandhar (17) and B Kalyani (15).
According to the police, Yugandhar who belongs to Jogi Kotha Indlu locality near Chowdepalli was in love with Kalyani, a resident of Chittevaripalli near Ramasamudram.
The young lovers were disturbed after their parents disapproved their marriage and left home on August 18.
The duo hanged themselves to a tree near the forest checkpost along the Tirupati-Bhakrapet highway.
Locals who noticed the bodies of the duo informed the local police, who rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies of the deceased for postmortem at the government hospital at Piler.
Police have informed the details of the suicide pact to the parents of the deceased.
