Andhra Pradesh: Husband jumps off moving auto and dies after altercation with wife

TIRUPATI: A middle aged man died after he jumped off a moving autorickshaw following an altercation with his wife on Thursday.

This bizarre accident was reported near Lakshmipuram village in Thottambedu mandal of Tirupati district.

The deceased was identified as Kotlapati Subramanyam (35) also known as Mani, a resident of Gnanamma Kandriga village. He worked at a local bricks manufacturing unit.

Police said Mani and his wife Subbamma went to their relatives house at Rajula Kandriga to attend a death ceremony related rituals and were returning back in an autorickshaw.

Mani was reportedly in an inebriated state and suddenly entered into a heated argument with his wife. The husband, who was agitated after the altercation, jumped out of the moving vehicle in a fit of rage and sustained severe head injuries.

Though he was immediately rushed to the government hospital at Srikalahasti, doctors declared that he was already dead.

Police registered a case and are further investigating.

The couple are survived by two children.
