VIJAYAWADA: The AP high court on Thursday directed the Crime Investigation Department (CID) not to take coercive steps against former minister P Narayana and others in the case registered over the alleged irregularities in the alignment of the proposed inner ring road (IRR) in capital Amaravati.
Narayana, Ramakrishna Housing Private Limited director KPV Anjani Kumar, and real estate barons Lingamaneni Ramesh and Lingamaneni Venkata Surya Rajasekhar, who have been arrayed as accused in the case registered by the CID, moved the high court seeking anticipatory bail. The petitioners argued that the IRR project was never launched and not even a single inch of land acquired for the project and the question of causing windfall gains to certain persons or causing wrongful loss to others will not arise. As the case was put up with political reasons they sought anticipatory bail.
