AMARAVATI/RAJAHMUNDRY: Polavaram project work crossed another important milestone with all 48 radial gates erected on Saturday. Although 42 radial gates were erected almost six months ago, the work on the remaining six gates was delayed due to floods and delay in import of vital spare units including hydraulic cylinders.
Earlier, Union Jal Sakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat along with chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inspected the project works last fortnight and directed the Polavaraam Project Authority (PPA) officials to expedite the works. PPA is nominated by the Centre as the project is fully funded by the Jal Shakti ministry.
