And Just Like That: how beige Aidan became one of the most divisive TV characters of all time

It’s the moment Sex and the City fans have all curiously been waiting for (and debating over). Ever since Carrie Bradshaw teasingly shared, “I realised some things are better left in the past. But maybe not everything...” in the final shots of the season two trailer of SATC spin off, And Just Like That, before her ex, Aidan, appears.

“Sitting here with you is like 10 years just…[clicks hands],” Aidan says, towards the end of episode seven. Frustratingly that’s almost all the dinner date (on Valentine’s Day, no less) dialogue you get between the two before skipping to the pair standing outside Carrie’s apartment.
