An ancient grinding stone dating back thousands of years was stolen from the front garden of a property in Dunning.
The Bronze Age quern stone was nabbed in broad daylight from Auchterarder Road, between 2.15pm and 4pm, on Thursday, June 15.
The heavy tool was used for hand-grinding a wide variety of materials, particularly for turning grain into flour.
The Bronze Age lasted from around 3300 BC to 1200 BC, meaning the stone could be up to 5,000 years old.
Police officers are now appealing for further information on the theft, with eyewitnesses spotting a man moving a “very heavy object” nearby at the time.
An appeal for dashcam footage has also been made.
