Ancient Alien Tech Fragments Could Be Hidden on the Moon, New Lunar Regolith Study Suggests

Tiny traces of alien technology could, in theory, be locked away in the moon’s dusty surface, and a team of scientists now wants future missions to actively comb lunar regolith for these microscopic alien technosignatures (Credit: Pixabay/Pexels)

Tiny traces of alien technology could, in theory, be preserved in the moon's dusty surface, and scientists are now urging that future missions deliberately search lunar regolith for such microscopic alien technosignatures, according to a preprint currently under review by the International Journal of Astrobiology.

The idea does not lean on blurry UFO clips or conspiracy‑theory mad stuff. The paper, first posted on the preprint server arXiv on 23 June and since revised, is a theoretical proposal that treats the moon as a kind of cosmic sediment trap.
