With the Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens in the books, it’s time to take a look at the Tennessee Titans’ snap counts on both sides of the ball.
The Titans had a pair of starters to replace in wide receiver Treylon Burks and defensive lineman Teair Tart, both of whom were ruled out before the game due to injury.
Tennessee also made the decision to bench two players during the game in left tackle Andre Dillard and cornerback Kristian Fulton. However, Fulton wasn’t on the sideline for long before being put back in.
So, how did the Titans replace their two injured starters and the players they benched? Find out that and more as we analyze Tennessee’s Week 6 snap counts.
Snap counts and analysis: Offense
-Andre Dillard was benched after 24 snaps, paving the way for Nicholas Petit-Frere to see 32 snaps at left tackle. All other starting Titans offensive linemen played every snap.
-Tyjae Spears out-snapped Derrick Henry on a day in which Henry was one of the team’s best playmakers. Spears did have an impressive 48-yard reception on a screen to give Tennessee a chance to score late, though.
-Kyle Philips played 27 snaps, 14 more than he did last week. Unfortunately, he did nothing with them and was held without a catch once again. His bump in snaps might have been a result of Chris Moore exiting early.
-Kevin Rader played a season-high 13 offensive snaps after Josh Whyle exited with a concussion following just two snaps.
-Malik Willis saw 18 snaps in relief of Ryan Tannehill and didn’t look any better than the rookie version we saw in 2022.
Snap counts and analysis: Defense
-Kristian Fulton was benched during the game but still managed to play 77 percent of snaps after being re-inserted. Tre Avery saw 18 snaps in relief.
-Kyle Peko once again saw a bump in snaps with Teair Tart sidelined due to injury and actually played pretty well. Jaleel Johnson and Naquan Jones also helped out up the middle.
-Roger McCreary has been arguably Tennessee’s best cornerback this season yet only played 65 percent of snaps, his lowest share in any game in 2023. McCreary should be seeing as many snaps as possible with the way the secondary has played.
-Remember when Mike Vrabel said Trevis Gipson would see more playing time after his strip sack of Joe Burrow? He’s played 15 snaps since then, including just six in Week 6.
-Dane Cruikshank and Taylor Stallworth saw their first action with the Titans in 2023. Cruikshank played one defensive snap and 20 on special teams, while Stallworth saw six defensive snaps.
