The Tennessee Titans had some big shoes to fill during their Week 14 contest against the Miami Dolphins, but thankfully guys were ready to step up and performed admirably in what was a miraculous win on Monday night.
The Titans were without the services of defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, tight end Josh Whyle, cornerback Kristian Fulton and punter Ryan Stonehouse.
On top of those players, right guard Daniel Brunskill was pulled from the game for what is, as of right now, an undisclosed reason.
So, how did the Titans fill those voids? Find out now as we go over the Week 14 snap counts on both sides of the ball.
Snap counts and analysis: Offense
-Right guard Daniel Brunskill only played 22 snaps and was replaced by fellow guard Calvin Throckmorton. Brunskill was on the injury report last week, but there was no report of an injury during the game, so it appears he may have been benched, although that hasn’t been confirmed. That would be surprising, as Brunskill has been one of Tennessee’ best offensive lineman this season.
-Tyjae Spears out-snapped Derrick Henry 48-34, which isn’t surprising considering Tennessee was trailing by two scores late. Spears made a huge impact down the stretch and should be given more opportunities moving forward.
-After being eased back in last week, Treylon Burks played a total of 49 snaps, the second-most among receivers. Unfortunately, he didn’t do much with them, with Burks tallying two touches for six yards.
-One week removed from being a healthy scratch, Kyle Philips played just three snaps. His usage continues to be confusing, especially with the Titans need for pass-catchers and with how the UCLA product had been coming on strong.
Snap counts and analysis: Defense
-Amani Hooker and Azeez Al-Shaair were the only Titans defenders to play every snap. K’Von Wallace was once again heavily involved, playing all but two snaps.
-With Kristian Fulton out, the Titans deployed Tre Avery in his spot, which kept Roger McCreary in the slot.
-With Jeffery Simmons out, the Titans utilized Jaleel Johnson, Kyle Peko, Marlon Davidson and TK McLendon, with Johnson, who forced a fumble, seeing the most snaps. McLendon recovered said fumble. Unfortunately, Peko exited early due to a calf injury.
