The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in a Saturday afternoon clash on December 16th at noon CST.
Heading into the game, there were many injuries that the Vikings were concerned about, including ones to multiple offensive starters. The final injury report for the week 15 matchup has been released and it reflects better than expected.
Let’s break it all down.
Wednesday injury report
- RG Ed Ingram (hip): Full
- WR Justin Jefferson (chest): Limited
- LG Dalton Risner (ankle): Limited
- RT Brian O’Neill (ankle): Did not practice
- WR Jalen Nailor (concussion): Did not practice
- RB Alexander Mattison (ankle): Did not practice
- G Chris Reed (illness): Did not practice
Out
- RB Alexander Mattison (ankle)
- RT Brian O’Neill (ankle)
- WR Jalen Nailor (concussion)
All three didn’t practice all week after suffering their injuries on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. With the first two being starters, that is a big loss for the Vikings offense.
Doubtful
Nobody is listed as doubtful for Saturday night’s game against the Bengals.
Questionable
- WR Justin Jefferson (chest)
- G Chris Reed (illness)
Jefferson was upgraded to full in practice on Thursday and expects to play on Saturday. Reed being limited with his illness does give hope that he will suit up on Saturday but he is firmly questionable.
Removed from injury report
- RG Ed Ingram (hip)
- LG Dalton Risner (ankle)
Having both guards ready to play despite their injuries is a good sign for the Vikings. Brandel played well enough in Ingram’s absence but missing both guards along with O’Neill would be a brutal blow to the Vikings.
Injured reserve
- WR Malik Knowles: The Vikings waived Knowles with an injury and he reverted back to injured reserve after clearing waivers. He is out for the season.
- LT Oli Udoh: He tore his quadriceps tendon against the Philadelphia Eagles and is out for the season.
- OLB Marcus Davenport: After injuring his right ankle before week one, Davenport suffered a high ankle sprain against the Chicago Bears and recently had tightrope surgery on it.
- DE James Lynch: Lynch tore his ACL during the Vikings night practice on August 3rd.
- ILB William Kwenkeu: He was placed on injured reserve after clearing waivers when the Vikings waived him with an injury designation.
- QB Kirk Cousins: He ruptured his right Achilles tendon against the Green Bay Packers in week eight.
- RB Cam Akers: He ruptured his Achilles tendon against the Atlanta Falcons in week nine.
- ILB Jordan Hicks: He suffered a leg injury that developed compartment syndrome against the New Orleans Saints in week 10.
- DE Dean Lowry: He suffered a pectoral injury against the Denver Broncos in week 11.
NFI list
There is nobody on the NFI list.
Bengals injury report
- LB Joe Bachie (oblique): Questionable
Both Ja’Marr Chase and Jake Browning saw themselves removed from the injury report after being listed all week long. The Bengals will be a relative full strength for Saturday’s game.
