Anahat Singh is a student of The British School in New Delhi. Born on March 13, 2008, the Indian squash player has made a name for herself on the international circuit with a series of record-breaking performances. At 18, she has added another major achievement to her career by defeating Egyptian star Nour ElSherbini, an eight-time world champion, at the Silicon Valley Open in the United States. Anahat, currently ranked world No. 15, defeated top seed and world No. 3 Nour ElSherbini in straight games to reach the quarter-finals of the Silicon Valley Open in Redwood City, California. The Indian won the second-round match 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 in 30 minutes at the PSA Gold event, which carries a prize purse of USD 143,500.

Speaking after the match, Anahat said she had grown up watching ElSherbini play and considered her an inspiration. She admitted that she had not expected the match to go so well, adding that her game plan had worked as intended.
