An essay of war, madness and addiction by photojournalist Eugene Richards

The work of award-winning American photographer Eugene Richards was recently the subject of a retrospective at the international photojournalism festival, Visa Pour l'Image. The 78-year-old has documented poverty in the US, photographed drug addicts, patients in psychiatric hospitals, Iraq war veterans. His exhibition is called "An Outsider".
