How did an engineer from Kovilpatti end up setting up India’s leading chain of integrated diagnostic clinics? “I married a doctor,” says V Govindarajan, founder & MD of the Rs 260 crore Aarthi Scans and Labs.
“After our marriage, Gomathi and I decided to establish a 20-bed poly clinic in 1985, since Kovilpatti town till then had only ‘out-patient’ doctors,” he says. For years, there was no ‘MRI scan’ unit in the region and patients were referred to Madurai, Trichy or even Chennai.
