An anonymous San Francisco tech worker gave $1.6 million to SFUSD, and all 6,000 teachers each received a $250 gift card

An anonymous San Francisco resident with a background in tech has made a donation worth $1.6 million to give every teacher and paraeducator in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) a gift card of $250, to honour educators’ work.

The donation, announced by Spark SF Public Schools , the official public foundation of the SFUSD, will benefit roughly 6,000 teachers and paraeducators across the district. Spark SF Public Schools revealed that the recipient will be able to access the money through a digital Visa gift card.
