Jamie Carragher has slammed Everton’s players branding them a 'disgrace' as they battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.
Everton’s poor run of form continued on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 at Goodison Park by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Conor Coady’s second-half header was the difference between the two sides as the Blues moved closer to the relegation zone following the defeat. Frank Lampard’s side remain outside the relegation zone on goal difference - and they do have games in hand on their relegation rivals heading into the final months of the season.
But when reflecting on Everton’s struggles on Monday Night Football after Crystal Palace's draw with Manchester City, Carragher blamed the club’s players for their downfall as a team this season.

He said: "The players have been an absolute disgrace because you can talk about Frank coming in, and you can talk about Rafa, they are two completely different managers in terms of style.
“You have got Rafa Benitez who you can look at it and say he is a bit defensive. Sat off teams and allowed other teams to play.
“But Frank is completely the opposite, so you are actually looking at Rafa and thinking it was dull, boring and they didn’t create an atmosphere at Goodison.
“Whereas Frank in home games has gone after teams and pressed teams and tried to play with energy and play out from the back, and they are still getting awful results.
“They have had (Carlo) Ancelotti, they have had Benitez, Ronald Koeman, Marco Silva, they have tried every manager you could possibly think of.
“It is probably similar to a Manchester United situation where no matter what manager you are picking it is not working. That structure of the club, I mean the players. The players are an absolute disgrace at Everton, they really are.”
During the chat with Gary Neville, Carragher also claimed that Evertonians don’t believe their side are going to stay up and described the club’s upcoming fixtures as 'horrific'.
He said: “I don’t think Evertonians believe they’re going to stay up. Their fixtures are horrific. The players have been an absolute disgrace.”
To which Neville responded, “They look so flaky. The pressure is enormous given that they’re a big club.
“I know a few Everton fans and they’re thinking ‘We’re done.’ Who’s in that dressing room that’s going to lift them?”
