Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has been handed a mural in Bootle after he visited the town alongside Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher during The Overlap On Tour.
Having become a well-liked partnership through their on-screen banter and chemistry, Neville and Carragher went one step further as part of the new television show which sees the duo, alongside other big names, take part in activities around the country for the entertainment of viewers.
The most recent episode saw Carragher in more familiar surroundings as the duo ventured into Liverpool to abseil off the top of Anfield. However, it was Neville who had the last laugh on this occasion as he completed the daunting task with relative ease while Carragher succumbed to nerves and eventually backed out.

Later on, they were joined by boxer and Everton fan Tony Bellew as Neville proudly revealed a mural in his colleague's birthplace. Painstakingly for Carragher, the image used was Neville's passionate celebration in front of Liverpool fans back in 2006.
And it's safe to say the 45-year-old, who made 737 appearances for Liverpool across 17 years with the club, was far from pleased. "I couldn't believe it," he claimed. "I've waited years to get something like that, the work I've had to do in this city and this community [is a lot], and he [Neville] just gets it like that."
Bellew was quick to taunt Neville too, adding: "You absolute horrible man. In our city. It's an absolute disgrace that you've put a Manc in the middle of Marsh Lane, Bootle.
"There will be some private genitalia on the forehead of him I will guarantee it because if it's not there in 20 minutes I'll come back and I'll do it myself."
Chirpy as ever though, Neville was not afraid to rub it in. "Haunting Carragher since 1992," he claimed. "P****ng Scousers off all my life."
