Amy’s Kitchen recalls nearly 200,000 cans of soup over spoilage risk as FDA upgrades warning

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) urged Amy’s Kitchen to issue a recall for its Organic Lentil Soup – Light Sodium. The company is recalling more than 15,000 12-count cases of the soup because of “potential spoilage.”

According to The Independent, a defect with the lids of the cans is to blame. A spokesperson for the company said, “The defect could cause the product to spoil, and the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the quality and safety of our products.”
