Amy Huberman 'mortified' as her children's book tops chart

Amy Huberman has revealed that her recently released children's book has reached the top of the Irish Children and YA book chart.

Explaining to her followers that she felt 'mortified' while posting about the book's success, Amy revealed her delight at the news and thanked those who have made it happen.

Amy announced at the beginning of this year that she would be releasing her first children's book, The Day I Got Trapped in My Brain.

The book follows Frankie who, together with her little brother Fred, can disappear to Thoughtopolis, a magical world inside her head.

Amy told her Instagram followers yesterday: "I just wanted to say a big thank you and that this has been a really special week.

"It’s v surreal to see the book at the top of the children’s fiction chart and I’m trying to think of a pun and I came up with “mysElf on a Shelf”.

"Loads of questions about age group etc. So it’s aimed at 9-12 (but like loads of adults reading too so thank you) and absolutely both for girls and boys."

Explaining what the book is about, Amy wrote: "It’s all about Frankie Finkleton who is 11 and one month old who has a dog called Blue with giant eyeballs and tiny nostrils.

"And a little brother called Fred who is her best friend in the whole world (no one in school can find out about this, little brothers are not meant to be cool. She has a rep to think about and doesn’t want to have to relocate to another part of the country from sheer embarrassment)."

Amy further explains that all of the adults in Frankie's life believe she just drifts of in a daydream, but she and Fred, along with their dog, can actually travel to a magical land where they discover a big secret.

The Day I Got Trapped in My Brain currently stands at number one on the Irish Bestselling Children and YA Books list ahead of Peppa Goes to Ireland by Lauren Holowaty and The World's Worst Pets by David Walliams.
