Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden is expected to tie the knot this weekend after the coronavirus pandemic saw her nuptials to fiance Benjamin Jones delayed. The television star, who hails from Caerphilly, was originally due to get married in July 2020.
This time around, however, the wedding preparations are in full swing and Amy has been keeping her 314,000 Instagram followers up to date with all the planning. Sticking to her Welsh roots, the 31-year-old has chosen both her bridal gown and flowers from stores and suppliers in Wales and recently celebrated her home hen in Cardiff, you can read more about this here.
Amy got engaged to her partner Ben, who is also a dancer, on New Year's Eve in 2017. The husband and wife-to-be run the Art in Motion dance academy together. Amy had previously shared her disappointment at not being able to get married on the date the couple had originally planned.

Sharing a video on what would have been their wedding day in 2020, Amy wrote: "So today should have been my last day as a Miss. Obviously it's not, really few mixed emotions.
"I should be on my way now to the cottage with my bridesmaids and my family… spending the night together playing games and probably me being really nervous.
"Ben would have been on his way to the other cottage… obviously we would have stayed apart! But I guess we have all this to come. Just remember safety is the most important thing and we still have a big day ahead."
Here's everything Amy has shared about her upcoming nuptials.
Wedding date
While the exact date of Amy's rescheduled wedding is not known, during a Q&A back in March the professional ballroom dancer told her fans it was planned for the "beginning of July" so it's believed to be taking place this weekend. At the time she also revealed she was feeling unorganised, she said: "Who else is getting married this year?
"Although I was supposed to get married 2020 and everything was organised and ready. Now it's creeping up on me and I feel totally unorganised and panicking."
Bridal gown
Amy revealed she had decided on her wedding dress back in May after a trip to Laura May Bridal in Cardiff. Posing with a sign that read "I said yes", Amy was beaming as she told her followers: "That moment you’ve dreamed about since a little girl saying YES TO THE DRESS!
"Thank you so much lovely ladies @lauramaybridal ! I’m soooooooo excited! Just weeks away."
Amy had previously tried on wedding looks during a photoshoot with the bridal gown store. The ballroom dancer tried on a range of gowns and admitted she felt like a princess as she told her followers: "I've arrived at the shoot. It's a wedding dress shoot – how cool is that! Especially as I'm still to get married."
Wedding flowers
Amy has chosen Jan Lima Flowers as her florist for the wedding. The bespoke florist has appeared in many magazines and wedding sites and is based in Cardiff.
Sharing the news on her Instagram account back in April, Jan Lima Flowers posed with Amy and wrote: "Such an honour to be chosen to create the wedding florals for the beautiful @amy_dowden. We had a wonderful afternoon talking all things flowery! My lips are sealed!"
Hen do
Amy recently partied with family and friends at The Parkgate Hotel and Dirty Martini in Cardiff on a home hen organised by her twin sister Becky Dowden.
Amy wore an all-white ensemble for the occasion which she completed with a bride-to-be sash, veil, and sunglasses. She was seen posing next to a sign at The Parkgate Hotel that said "Welcome to Amy's hen" alongside her bridal party, before enjoying afternoon tea and some time at the spa.
The party then headed out to Cardiff for a night out where Amy could be seen making cocktails behind the bar at Dirty Martini. You can read more about this here. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
