Amy Broadhurst fought back tears on Saturday night as she suffered a shock defeat to Grainne Walsh at the National Elite Championships in Dublin.
The world and European light-welterweight gold medallist lost the welterweight final after moving up in weight.
Walsh blocked most of what Broadhurst threw at her in the first round before the Dundalk native began to find gaps in her defence.

Broadhurst came out swinging in the second and caught Walsh with a right before following up with a number of combinations.
But Walsh ended the round strongly and on the counter attack connected with a powerful right which knocked Broadhurst onto the ropes in the final round.
The judges scored the fight 3-2 in Walsh's favour, with Broadhurst fighting back tears as the decision was read out.
