Amy Broadhurst has broken her silence following her shock defeat to Grainne Walsh.
The World Champion lost to Walsh at the IABA Elite Championships.
The pair put on a cracking contest and Olympic hopeful Broadhurst took to social media as she spoke her mind after the loss.
Broadhurst said: "Not everything lasts forever. My perfect year & all the success came crumbling down on top of me last night and I’m heartbroken. A big congratulations to Grainne who boxed Brilliant & what a good fight it was
"I’ll come back stronger like I always do. This tournament in general doesn’t reflect what am capable of & I know I’ll show that in the future.
"Thanks for all the support, my sponsors that are with me thru it all. My family who are so so amazing to me & my boxing club St Bronaghs.. this is just a crack in a long road. My future still remains bright no matter what road I take."
And a number of followers sent their well wishes.
One person said: " Keep that head held high and move forward"
While another said: " It's not about the amount of times you fall down, it's all about how many times you keep getting back up"
