Dubbing the Congress, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) as ‘family-led’ 4G (four generations), 2G AND 3G parties, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said the BJP will come to power in Telangana by trouncing the ruling BRS in the upcoming Assembly polls.
The countdown to the fall of the BRS regime in Telangana had begun and the ‘lotus’ (BJP’s symbol) will bloom at the hustings to usher in change in the State, bringing an end to the BRS’s ‘misrule’, Mr Shah asserted while addressing a public meeting - ‘Rythu Gosa – BJP Barosa’ in Khammam on Sunday evening.
Mr Shah sounded the saffron party’s poll bugle for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections in Khammam, the traditional Left stronghold, the constituency presently held by the ruling BRS.
Striking a combative note, Mr Shah accused the K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR)-led BRS regime in Telangana of sailing with the AIMIM for selfish political interests.
“The steering of the car (BRS party symbol) is in the hands of AIMIM and the persons at the helm are playing to the tunes of the latter, he charged.
“Telangana Chief Minister KCR dishonoured the age-old temple tradition of presenting ‘pattu vastrams’ to the presiding deity of the historic Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam on behalf of the State government on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami,” Mr. Shah alleged, adding that the BJP Chief Minister will continue the tradition diligently, once the BJP is voted to power in Telangana.
Paying tributes to the martyrs those waged a valiant fight against the Razakar reign of terror under the autocratic Nizam rule in the erstwhile Hyderabad State, he said the BRS regime shattered the ideals of the Telangana martyrs.
Mr Shah said, “The BRS government had failed to deliver on its promises made to farmers, Dalits, unemployed youths and various other sections and its days are being numbered.
He reeled out the statics of the Centre’s allocations to Telangana and said the Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Centre enhanced the agriculture budget from Rs 22,000 crore during Congress regime to Rs 1.25 lakh crore now and farm loans from Rs 7 lakh crore to Rs 20 lakh crore today.
Rice purchase has been increased from 475 lakh metric tonnes in 2014 to 900 lakh metric tonnes now, he said, alleging that KCR was playing politics on rice purchase.
Rebutting the reported statement of the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge that the BRS had nexus with the BJP, Mr Shah said the BJP is determined to defeat the BRS at the hustings.
It is a false propaganda by the Congress, which is having friendship with the BRS, he alleged.
