What are the odds of BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya uniting people across the political spectrum? And what are the chances of him being called out by supporters of the Indian right-wing?
Since all of that happened on Wednesday, Malviya deleted his tweet, which said “everyone is an indexation specialist tonight”. He was merely trying to dismiss criticism of the budget decision to eliminate indexation in property sales.
But many said he regularly “trolled” citizens, and some even demanded an overhaul of the BJP IT cell. Among those who hit back was Ratan Sharda, an RSS veteran who has written several books on the Sangh and is a columnist for its mouthpiece Organiser.
Sharda said that “this attitude of BJP IT Cell is a serious problem. Instead of coming up with simplified communication about the good points of Budget 2024, he ends up trolling citizens.”
As Malviya deleted the tweet, Sharda remarked that “let better senses prevail”.
