Injuries at the cornerback position this year have decimated the Raiders. Nate Hobbs has already missed a significant chunk of the season and now Marcus Peters is dealing with a knee injury. This was already an extremely thin group, but the Raiders have managed to get by.
One of the unsung heroes of the secondary this year has been fourth-year cornerback Amik Robertson. After barely making the 53-man roster, Robertson played just three total snaps in the first three games of the season. But since then, he’s become an every-down player.
Robertson had a fantastic game in Week 9, allowing just 17 yards on four targets. He also recorded an interception, which was his second of the year.

2 receptions allowed, 17 yards
1 INT
1 forced incompletion

Robertson isn’t the most consistent cornerback and his lack of size shows up in the run game. But he is a playmaker and has been a key part of this defense over the last few weeks. Even with Hobbs back on the field, expect the Raiders to find ways to keep Robertson in the lineup.
It took a while, but Robertson is finally making a big impact for the Raiders in the final year of his rookie deal.
