Love Island fans everywhere are mourning the split of one of the show’s most beloved couples, Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti.
In an announcement on his Instagram story in June, Sanclimenti said that the pair were “no longer together” but that he wished his former partner “nothing but the best”. Although Culculoglu is yet to address the break-up publicly.
While it wasn’t meant to be for the duo, it doesn’t mean that all romances borne from the famous Hidden Hills Villa have been mugged off once back on home soil.
Infact, among the 12-strong couples that are still together there’s been four weddings, and eight babies, with hopefully a few more on the way as these couples continued to prove they’re each other’s type on paper.
Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, Winter 2023
Kai was first coupled with Tanyel and then Olivia, before he met Sanam in Casa Amor where he decided to recouple with her.
And their romance proved to be a winning combination as they were crowned the winners of Winter Love Island 2023.
In his exit interview, Kai said: “As soon as we get out of here, that’s when even more effort starts. You can really value someone’s time and effort when you have to put in the time and effort. That’s what I am looking forward to.”
Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga, winter 2023
After first admitting that they loved one another during the Winter edition, Shaq and Tanya are still going strong outside the villa.
The pair have enjoyed several milestones since leaving the ITV2 villa including idyllic breakaways to Malta and Spain.
In June, the couple confirmed that they were taking the next step in their relationship and were viewing properties in Manchester after five months of commuting between London and Liverpool.
Jessie Wynter and Will Young, Winter 2023
Jessie turned farmer Will’s head immediately when she entered in the villa alongside fellow Aussie bombshell Aaron.
While Aaron appearance was a flash in the pan, Jessie and Will’s romance was not as they survived Casa Amor (just about) and even told professed their love for one another.
Although they didn’t make it to the final, they left the Villa as boyfriend and girlfriend. Since then, they have enjoyed trips to the States and her native Oz to introduce Will to her parents.
Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, 2022
Who could forget the rollercoaster Indiyah and Dami took viewers on in 2022?
After the self-proclaimed heartbreakers rekindled their romance in the villa following an explosive Casa Amor, they’ve proved their relationship is a match made in heaven.
Their flame is burning so brightly that Dami has swapped his native Dublin for London and moved in with the Aftersun contributor.
Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, 2022
When Andrew told Tasha he “licked [Coco’s] t** or whatever” on national TV, I don’t think anyone of us would believe that this pairing would last the distance.
Yet, they have rightly proved the naysayers wrong.
Although at the time Andrew’s actions nearly split the couple apart, they decided to let the past by the past and are happier than ever a year after leaving the villa.
Eva Zapico and Nas Majeed, Winter 2020
Eva and Nas are possibly one of Love Island’s most underrated couple after meeting in Casa Amour during series six of the show.
The pair were inseparable in the villa and continue to be now as they regularly update fans on their relationship on social media.
Both have said that if it weren’t for the Villa their paths would have never crossed.
Molly Smith and Callum Jones, Winter 2020
Callum brought the drama on the first ever Winter Love Island when he coupled up with Molly at Casa Amor behind Shaughna Phillips’s back.
Despite Shaughna being the people’s princess that season, Callum’s infatuation for Molly was clear to see so much so the public kept them in until just before the finals.
The couple have proved that their Villa romance wasn’t a fleeting moment two and half years on as they now live together in Manchester.
Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, 2019
Molly-Mae and Tommy are perhaps one of the most notable couples to have ever come from the ITV2 series.
The lovebirds are still together four years after their series ended and have even welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Bambi.
Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt, 2017
Camilla was dealt a terrible hand when she first entered the Villa in 2017, having initially been paired up with Jonny Mitchell, who memorably told her he would feel “emasculated if a girl paid” on a date.
After a few more failed connections, viewers were thrilled when model Jamie Jewitt came in to sweep her off of her feet so much so they wed in 2021 and have welcomed two daughters, Nell and Nora.
Jess Shears and Dom Lever, 2017
Another couple to stand the test of time is Jess Shears and Dom Lever, who paired up early on in the 2017 installment.
Soon after Shears entered the Villa as a bombshell, she was voted out by her fellow Islanders. Although heartbroken by her departure, Dom stayed in the villa for another week before he was eliminated.
Despite fans doubts, the couple married live on Good Morning Britain in February 2018, before they officially tying the knot in Mykonos in October that same year.
They are also now parents to two sons.
Cara Delahoyde and Nathan Massey, 2016
Cara and Nathan won series two of the dating series but briefly split a year after being crowned Love Island winners.
However, the chemistry between the couple was too strong to deny and they rekindled their relationship just before welcoming their first child, Freddie-George, together in 2017.
After their son’s birth, Nathan got down on bended knee at the original villa the show was filmed in 2018. They married that same year – and have since added a daughter, Delilah, to their brood in 2020.
Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen, 2016
Alex and Olivia are one of the show’s biggest success stories having met back in 2016 during series two.
Although they didn’t win, they did become the first ever Love Island couple to walk down the aisle, just two years after their Villa stint in 2018.
Now living in Essex, the couple have since welcomed their first child– a baby boy named Abel Jacob Bowen back in 2022.
