In the video, Noel asks a number of Irish people to do their best American accent. Phrases like “Check out my YouTube channel”, “What’s up” and the overuse of the word “right” were what the Irish people came up with.
The clips were taken on a train, on a street in Temple Bar, as well as what appears to be a wedding or a similar function.
Most American TikTokers in the comments saw the light-hearted side of the video. One joked: “I feel like we are getting made fun of guys."
“The way that everyone goes right to the ‘YouTube channel,’” another said.
A third user said: “Feeling attacked by ‘RIGHT?!’”
One user asked the question: “Also why are they yelling? Do we YELL?”
“You can't be mad at the Irish. Gotta love 'em,” one user said.
Phrases such as “candy store” and “Spring break” also amused a number of users, with the official TikTok account commenting: “Not the Spring Break LMAO.”
In a separate video, one man’s impression centred around Philadelphia, and, in his Northern Irish accent, he said: “Go Phillies, go Eagles. We’re going to wreck the town if we win something.
Under this video, one user wrote: “Not once did he deviate from sounding Irish but he sure said some valid American things.”
