An American tourist was left less than impressed with their trip to the Cliffs of Moher by labelling it terrible on TripAdvisor.
The July visitor have the famous landmark just one star - for 'terrible' - after not actually being able to see the cliffs on the day.
They said the weather forecast was for fog but the conditions turned out to be worse than expected, which they believe warranted the worst rating possible.
In the scathing review the Chicago tourist said: "Weather was so bad we couldn't see the Cliffs OR even the ocean. 2.5 hours to get there, 90 minutes in the dumpy and overcrowded visitor center for no reason, followed by 90 minutes in the bus to Galway.
"Waste of time and money. I know the weather can't be controlled, but the forecast called for the fog to clear up a few hours after our visit...which it did...but no attempt was made to avoid the dismal situation. Perhaps we could have started in Galway and then went to the Cliffs in the afternoon?"
The polite staff at the Cliffs replied to the complainant and even offered their apologies for the weather, they said: "We are sorry you did not enjoy your visit to the Cliffs of Moher. Unfortunately, the weather can differ greatly at the Cliffs to other parts of County Clare and sometimes even different to the forecast. We hope you will have the opportunity to visit again in the future."
