
CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy - In a dramatic turn of events at the World Cup downhill race, American skier Bella Wright suffered a crash, resulting in her being airlifted off the course on Saturday. The incident took place midway through Wright's run on the challenging Olympia delle Tofane course, prompting immediate attention from medical personnel.
Following the accident, Wright was swiftly loaded onto a stretcher and transferred off the mountain via helicopter. Concerns for her well-being were soon relieved when the U.S. Ski Team provided an update, stating that she was conscious and able to communicate. She is currently undergoing the standard helicopter transfer and further information will be shared in due course.
