An American man, Travis Timmerman, who had been missing for seven months, was found safe in Syria after being discovered by locals in southern Damascus. Timmerman, 29, was walking barefoot in the streets when he was found. His parents expressed immense relief upon hearing the news, as they had feared the worst during his disappearance.

Richard Gardiner, Timmerman's stepfather, described the emotional moment when they received confirmation of his safety. He mentioned calling Timmerman's mother, Stacey Timmerman, to share the good news, leading to tears of joy and relief.
