Former American Idol contestant Caleb Flynn was sentenced in Ohio on Monday, 5 October, to life without parole after a jury convicted him of murdering his 37-year-old wife, Ashley Flynn.

Prosecutors also alleged that the 40-year-old former music pastor told his daughters to lie before investigators interviewed them about their mother's death.
