JERUSALEM — The membership of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) voted 71% to 29%, on July 24, to boycott Israeli academic institutions, referring to Israeli “apartheid” and Israeli colleges’ and universities’ “complicity in violating Palestinian rights as stipulated in international law.”
Just 37% of the association’s membership voted in the electronic ballot, held from June 15 to July 14, with 2,016 approving the resolution and 835 opposing it.
